![]() ![]() What is this Microsoft partnership worth to GameStop? I will assume $4 Billion over time due to the scale of the reliance on GameStop, which is now a significant beneficiary of Microsoft's $69 Billion buyout of Activision/Blizzard. GameStop is essentially building "Ready Player One", and since Microsoft knows this, and since Microsoft just bought out Activision Blizzard, GameStop in Microsoft together we'll have probably a monopoly on the metaverse and as it relates to players owning what they wear, and the tools and weapons they use, in the games that they love. Microsoft acknowledges how serious GameStop's digital world will be, in players being able to wear their avatars from game to game, own everything they buy, and traverse into and out of the broad-gaming metaverse using what they own. This does serve as evidence of Microsoft actively promoting their longstanding partnership with GameStop - by advocating for the evolution of that partnership This is clearly in relation to how the mainstream media has treated GameStop rather than the very serious and historic work that GameStop is doing on the blockchain front. He said "must be nothing", while referencing GameStop's 3D and immersive NFT Marketplace (via Immutable X) publicly, jovially, and sarcastically. Proving this, Microsoft blockchain lead, on his Twitter today, mocked the media. Microsoft Depends on GameStop for Sales, and Microsoft's buyout of Activision / Blizzard will lead to an even greater dependency to have their games sold en masse in order to take gaming market share from Amazon (prime, twitch) and Apple (store) It can be assumed that the demand for Immutable X Tokens (IMX) will continue to grow, and we clearly discussed evidence that GameStop is already doing this.įurther, it should be noted that Microsoft has a strong and ongoing partnership with GameStop. If GameStop continues to do this, then assuming IMX jumps to $20 per token which is close to its all-time-high, then the deal is essentially a $1 Billion grant. GameStop is smart to 'day trade' these spikes. This means that GameStop will continue to receive cash-on-hand (adding to their $1.5 Billion war chest) far in excess of the terms of the agreement. Gamestop sold IMX into the PR-induced spike in IMX assets when the token was $4.00. The valuation of that deal was at IMX's low price around $2.00. This report shows that the Immutable X deal with GameStop is worth more than $100 Million. It is reasonable to assume that GameStop's NFT arm alone would be worth similarly. This 3D immersive marketplace, which will be announced this year, alone may be worth $10 Billion and could surpass OpenSea's NFT marketplace which is valued as such. The big news about GameStop partnering with Immutable X, in addition to using Loopring protocols, is well-disseminated now.

Remote hacks are the far more likely scenario, and examples crop up fairly often in the news cycle. Local hacks are unlikely to affect you, though, as they require focused intent on the target. Hacking routers directly and locally is one route, albeit an uncommon one, to access a security camera feed. But even if they're effective, that doesn't mean your smart cameras are totally secure. In short, security companies appear to be consciously using multiple levels of security to protect customers from potential abuse by installers and technicians - even if the processes by which they do this aren't entirely transparent. In this review we will focus on the 21 cubic feet model but most things will apply to other sizes as well. All of them are technically pretty much identical to each other but dimensions and shapes slightly differ a bit (except 15 cubic feet model which is a lot flatter compared to others making it look like a completely different model). Yakima Skybox Carbonite is available in 5 sizes: 12, 15, 16, 18 and 21 cubic feet. Well that changes today as it’s time to find out how Yakima Skybox, the most popular model from the manufacturer compares to competition. So that may be something you’re not accounting for in your analytics, because on echo360 for example, it may show that a person’s downloaded a lecture, but because that video is offline you can’t measure the views of that specific. I do however want to note that I download recordings offline so I can study while taking the subway or if I’m going somewhere where there’s no/slow internet that might not be able to stream HD video. But I don’t ask profs who don’t provide them to provide them since I know they might not do it just because one person is asking for them. I use lecture recordings when I have to, so I have the piece of mind knowing that if there’s a transit delay or an appointment I can’t move, I won’t be penalized for another entity’s schedule conflicts. ![]() At the end of the day, I would have been reslly glad to be in your class because you seem like a great prof that's doing their absolute best!! :) ![]() That being said, I guess all these resources are specifically helpful for students that live far, or even out of the province/country, but it's doesn't give them the right to be bashing profs and demanding that they provide better/more resources. I know a lot of people don't end up listening to the lectures, but there are a lot of people that benefit from it. Recordings in of itself have just been very useful to me to allow me to go back and forth between stuff and make sure I've got great notes, which then help me study for my midterms. I need to be in a quiet place to be able to concentrate on taking notes, and live lectures usually isn't the place because 1) profs sometimes go very fast, and 2) there's always annoying people that are talking waaay too loudly at the back of the lecture hall. I'm that student that will attend lectures but won't take notes in class because I just want to be present and listen to the prof without having to worry about the last thing the prof said. Hey! A lot of my lectures throughout my 4 years have been recorded, and it's been SUPER useful to me. Would you be satisfied with a text transcript? How would you react if your profs were to stop providing lecture recordings? I'm very interested in hearing more about the student experience.ĭo you ask profs to provide recordings even though you rarely watch them? Why? I can't be sure if analytics are similar across disciplines, so feel free to enlighten me. Over two years of posting video lectures to YouTube has provided me with enough data to wonder why students demand lecture recordings. This effort and time doesn't seem very productive when there are no views. While it seems like a super easy thing to simply record and post the recording, that work actually adds up to a few hours of my time each week (sometimes extended by computer crashes.). However, I am frustrated with the forceful student demand for access to recordings of lectures in light of video analytics showing that few students ever hit play, and if one or two do they only watch for a minute or so. I don't impose late penalties on assignments, I supply lecture slides, video transcripts, full recordings, and I stream on-campus classes for students who are unable to attend in-person. Before you come for me, know that I'm invested in supporting my students. ![]() While the first film's focus was on the culprits and on providing facts, the second one lets us meet the victims.
